Boating in London

A civilized adventure in London with no traffic and so much more freedom. In a car traveling at 4mph would be frustrating, in a boat it is totally relaxing.

Narrowboat holidays put you in charge of your holiday. It allows you to choose where and when to go, where to stop and what to do. Even ordinary tasks like shopping and cooking take on a new delight in a boat. However, if you fancy a break and want to eat out, there are plenty of pubs and restaurants just waiting to welcome you. What's more, there's no problem parking or getting home afterwards!

Your boat is home from home. Central heating, hot water, showers, flush toilets, and comfortable beds. You will be pleasantly surprised and delighted with the comfort levels and standards achieved in a one of our modern narrowboats. It's an exploring holiday but your home comforts travel with you.

No experience is necessary. You and your crew will never forget the delights of learning to handle a narrowboat, and at a leisurely 4 mph even youngsters (properly supervised) can manage the craft with ease.

With the instructions given even working the locks and bridges are a lot easier than you might imagine, and provides plenty of opportunity for all the crew to share the jobs and experience.

Hardly a moment passes when something new and interesting won't delight you and the crew.

On a boat, you are welcomed as part of the scenery, rather than just a visitor. Your whole holiday is at walking pace, there's time to savour the scenery, talk to people and get in touch with a more social type of lifestyle.

Put the world behind you and set off up the canal. Free at last. Stop when you feel like it. Get up when you like, and above all go where you want to go.

Canal holidays are fun - whether with family or friends, you can choose an easy relaxing route, or a holiday of adventure and exploration. Remember that canal boats have always been homes. In the days before motorways and railways, they were the main method of transport, with whole families lived in boats while earning their living. Time moves on and, sadly, commercial boats have all but disappeared, but the heritage has been preserved and enhanced by our modern boats which bring you the opportunity to experience a bit of history with all the comforts of home.
